2 reasons:
1: we ended up at the wrong col and summited Tête Blanche accidentally trying to locate Col du Tour
2: accustomed to hot British summer, the thought of standing on belays in cold windy clag (aka Scottish winter) didn't appeal so we dropped plan A (South Ridge of Aiguille Purtscheller)
En route back to the hut the weather came out nice but it was now 10 o'clock (left hut at 05:00), so crevasse-rescued each other out of a windlip below a chough's nest in a huge granite face (above Jenny's head in 2nd pic).
