Mooched about today then spent the evening with our fellow villagers. We're holed-up in a hamlet, population 25 people, down a road I suspect is too steep to ride back up (will report back later), cars are left outside the village.
Early doors we drink local wine with a guy half-local/half Essex (born in the village) now living in 'nam and a guy from Madrid who's daughter lives in Paris but he lives in the Central African Republic.
Mike 'the hatter' happens by and waxes about his quest to find gold (literally) in the crumbling terraces of his abandoned land followed by local musicians who look exactly like The Actual Three Wise Men.
Later that evening we eat Hungarian food cooked by Canadian ex-pats and rock-out to the 3 Learned Dudes, whilst talking to an Israeli psychologist from New York and an English couple ex of York University all 3 of whom have sold-up to settle here.
At around midnight we bid farewell as the Hungarian host tinkles his electronic ivories and the afore-mentioned trio imbibe of herbal inspiration to aid navigation toward the star.
