Camped up in Coire Domhain with the resident reindeer herd (close to the snowhole site of last winter).
Showers Saturday so did Afterthought Arete alpine-style, for info: Stag Rocks dry quickly and the granite, she grippy. Stunning views of the Loch Avon basin, Shelter Stone crag and Carn Etchachan.
Rained overnight so cautious recce of Hell's Lum revealed it to be running with water. Enough of it looked dry for me to MTFU so attacked Clean Sweep.
1st pitch very stiff for the grade (1 fall), 3rd pitch 45m, 30m of which was sustained 4c and soaking wet at one of many cruxes. Felt drained surveying the wet and rounded 4b of pitch 4 so we called it a day and rapped out.
Clagged in Monday so walked out to a Mountain Cafe breakfast. Coire an t-Sneachda has a desolate beauty in the murk.
Stopped off at Cock Wood on the way back.
