Wild-camped over the back of Blencathra. Next day - inversion to all horizons. Blocky full-depth avalanche debris on east faces. Some chaps camping by Scales tarn whooping as they bum-sledged a long gully. Near the summit, shovel versus axe in a snow-hole-off. Stay high on the traverse path back along the bottom to avoid height-loss crossing the gills.
