Tower Ridge (summer)

Had man flu on the approach, aw, who's a boo boo, who's a boo boo goo? Was very brave and pushed on to the CIC. Brie and paracetemol for lunch then made a recovery that challenged medical science, became full of beans and wouldn't shut up. Whipped up the Douglas Gap then moved together for most of it, any pitching done using rock friction or body belays (only used 2 crabs throughout). 2 hours for the ridge and 7 altogether car to car (parked at Ben Nevis bunkhouse).

Was keen to nail the difference between the great and little towers as there is a faux eastern traverse at the little tower made by folks making a mistake then coming back. The difference is if it looks like you could climb it at around diff then it's the little tower, if it looks desperate then it's the great tower (pic taken from foot of great tower). Also there is a peg in the wall round to the right.

Approaching Tower Gap.

Jenny emerging from Tower Gap, a nice challenge while in there is to drop across by keeping your feet still and bracing the far side with your hands.

Accidental shot as I was putting the camera away, but shows nicely the situation from the belay.

Looking back at the Great Tower piercing the intimidating shadow of the North Face. Compare these pics with our winter traverse.

Ross soloed this couple of days later and finished off with CMD arete, making 4 hrs 40 car to car (North Face car park).
